Their handlers can put collars on them, run them around the floor and show them off like the circus performers they really are. Maher’s point about Perry being a secessionist was especially poignant. And sadly funny as well.

Unless Jeb Bush files papers in January, I’m pretty well convinced the GOP is merely putting on a show to justify their existence until Emperor Jeb adorns himself in the traditional purple robing in 2017.

Obama, of course, is merely serving as place-holder until then.
